Lake Aquitaine. Also sighted: lots of Black-capped Chickadees, House Sparrows, Gulls (mainly Ring-billed), Mallards and Canada Geese. Also, 2 pregnant squirrels including one that followed me from one end of the lake to the other - about a 10+ minute walk. She was extremely hungry and pigging out on shelled peanuts!

Lake Aquitaine, small area of open water. Very riled up Crows so I took a good look around but no sign of any hawks. Nearby, my favourite squirrel everyone has nicknamed "White Nose". :)

YYZ - European Starlings and House Sparrows in parking lot of Wendy's fast food restaurant on Airport Rd. They were eating something off the ground - appeared to be french fries.
Lake Aquitaine. 1m, 1f. Instantly show up when I'm feeding shelled peanuts to squirrels.

This is not my sighting but I just saw the photo and read the write-up. Local person had a male Muscovy Duck show up in their backyard and is now on their porch. Apparently this is an escapee? Lots of farmland just North and West of here. Ironically, a birder lives next door to the house with Muscovy Duck visitor. :)
Maplewood Park. 1m, 1f. Lots of House Sparrows and Black-capped Chickadees nearby (including one flying in & out of hole in tree). Lots of Cottontail Rabbit prints in snow.
Being mobbed by 14 Ring-billed Gulls (they were totally ticked off!). Sharpie headed over to rooftop of Meadowvale Town Centre - lots of Rock Pigeon there. The hawk has been around for about one week now.

NW corner of Lake Aquitaine, a teeny tiny patch of open water - all Mallards are here, no Canada Geese around today. In snow by fence, Cottontail rabbit prints. A few hungry squirrels running up to be fed shelled peanuts by me. :)

On both sides of Hwy 407, between Mississauga and Burlington, Ontario. On way home along QEW, hundreds of Starlings on North and South side of highway between Grimsby and Mississauga.

Lake Aquitaine. 1 male hiding in some sort of shrubs with small red berries. I tossed a handful of 1/2 shelled peanuts to him and he came out of hiding immediately to eat.

Lake Aquitaine. Crows were very riled up so I took a good look around for either a hawk or owl - no luck sighting either. Lots of Canada Geese, Gulls (mainly Ring-billed) and Mallards on lake.

Maplewood Park. Sitting next to each other on tree branch, checking out what I was tossing to squirrels. One swooped down to have a shelled peanut. He (or she) broke it open, took the peanut out then kicked the shell aside. Ha Ha! It was hilarious to observe this!

Flying around out back of my building from 11am-12noon, appeared to be having fun and playing! Perhaps they were just trying to stay warm?
Maplewood Park. The thrill of my morning and first time I've sighted an owl at this park! Lots of Red-breasted Nuthatch were "yammering" up a storm! Lots of Black-capped Chickadees around as well.
Lake Wabukayne. 5m, 3f. Also sighted lots of Chickadees, Goldfinches, House Sparrows, Mallards, Mourning Doves, Red-breasted Nuthatches and Robins. Also, 2 Red Squirrels - very cute and noisy little critters. :)

Hamilton, Ontario - flying between Hamilton Harbour and Lake Ontario. Earlier in the year, will sight hundreds flying, in trees and on nests! On way to Niagara Falls, also sighted 2 Red-tailed Hawks, 3 Mute Swans, 1 Great Blue Heron, lots of House Sparrows and lots of Starlings.

Lake Aquitaine. Imm. Eastern, flew right across the front of my face! Landed on nearby tree branch and proceeded to give me the evil eye!

Lake Aquitaine. I can't say 100% for sure it was an Alder Flycatcher that I sighted. It seems to match my field guides and photos in Google Images. I'm also going on gut instinct/woman's intuition with this one. :) I looked up Willow Flycatcher as well and it wasn't this one. Wasn't a Goldfinch or Warbler or Junco. A camera would help!
