SqueakyChu I used to watch birds at our backyard feeder with my husband when our kids were young. After reading To See Every Bird on Earth by Dan Koeppel, I am suddenly interested in watching birds again.

Two at the top of the tallest tree in the yard next door.
Walking on the lawn, then bathed in the birdbath.
He was pecking seeds off of the ground.
I have a hard time telling these from purple finches.
I cannot positively identify what this bird was. There were about 6 or 7 of them on top of our tallest trees and making quite a racket (which I couldn't hear because I'm hard of hearing). My husband said they went "Coo - Coo - Coo" , but very harshly. They appeared to be all white with maybe some tan on top. What was prominent, though, was the black band on their necks. Any thoughts as to what other birds these might have been? They were large (I'd say at least as large as a crow) and appeared to be perching birds.
