Maplewood Park. He/she decided to have a Mourning Dove for breakfast in my friend's backyard - her deck chair is now covered in blood and feathers are scattered everywhere!

Lake Aquitaine. He and the female Mallard are now cuddling, rubbing heads, touching each other's bills, etc. Very cute! There's also a male Mallard bonded with a female Black Duck ... should be some interesting hybrid ducklings this year!
Jan. 12-19th vacation: Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Center - Nassau, Bahamas. Also saw Black Swans, Caribbean Flamingo, Coot (American), Great Horned Owl, Lory parrots (Red, Rainbow-coloured and Black-capped), Peacocks (m & f), Peking Duck, White-cheeked Pintail, Blue and Gold Macaw, Moluccan Cockatoo, etc. at this location.
Jan. 12-19th vacation: Nassau, Bahamas. Had the total thrill of a male House Sparrow hovering above my hand then landing on my fingers to eat some food from my palm!
Plowman's Park. I was participating in a Christmas Bird Count today and this sighting along with male Wood Duck and male Kestrel were my 3 favourites out of 40 species! Total # of birds counted: 3,613. Wow!
Lake Aquitaine. I last sighted a male Wood Duck here back on Nov. 26th. He's back! - and determined to mate with a female Mallard. She just quacks at him. Ha Ha! The gorgeous male Wood Duck should really be in Florida or Texas at the moment!
Flew past my livingroom window numerous times plus very low above pine trees out back of my building. Guess he was looking for some lunch. Lots of pigeons nearby but he was ignoring them.
Lake Wabukayne. The colours are SO stunning with sunlight shining on this bird. Also saw a Mink sitting on a log ... female Mallard was sitting at other end of log.
Hi everyone. I personally have not gone to see this imm. male bird but numerous birders are "flocking" (no pun intended! :D) to see this VERY rare bird - just arrived in Brampton, Ontario a couple of days ago. He is being sighted all up and down front yards on Addington Cres.
Lake Aquitaine, exact same tree as back on Oct. 10th. This time, he/she flew to another pine tree - couldn't see the owl afterwards but could definitely hear it. Bright yellow eyes, green-gray bill, tufts of feathers at base of bill = adult owl. A truly thrilling sighting!

Lake Aquitaine. Feeding shelled peanuts to squirrels ... Blue Jays, Cardinals, Mourning Doves, Chickadees, Starlings, etc. all made an appearance!
