I've been seeing bunches in some of our neighbors yards also!!
They sit in the trees, scream, eat all my bird seed, scream, eat some corn, scream, grab a peanut.... lol.... :D :D
I love them though!! They are such a beautiful bird!! I hadn't had many this summer, so I'm definately enjoying having them!! :)
-you may have heard of the 1970's song,- "Knock Three Times"! When I have finished re-filling the nut feeder early in the morning, I knock three times with a rock on a metal table, and if the Blue Jays are not in the immediate vicinity, they are there within minutes! :o))
Wow! It sounds like they have the routine down pat! :) That's amazing!!
I used to whistle every time I filled my bird feeder...the chickadees and titmice would come out of the woodwork!
I had to stop during the summer though, because all of the grackles learned my whistle also, and I had every grackle in the county at my bird feeder!!!! :D :D :D
It's amazing how smart the birds really are!! How they can identify individuals and different sounds!!
-come to think of it, I saw two magpies on the flat feeder a few days ago, which was a little unusual! Maybe I'm heading down the :D :D :D path that you were down! HA!
