Spotted what we think is a Tricoloured blackbird, in our small weeping willow tree and at the bird feeder. It is not a red-winged blackbird. It was completely black, except for a spot of white and deep red where the red-winged blackbird has their markings on their shoulders. However, under the wings, when it flew, the colour was a beautiful deep dark red. Almost a wine colour. It is shown to be only around California, but after a lot of research on the net, it is definitely a tri coloured blackbird. Supposedly very rare. |
