Notes Lake Aquitaine. Dozens around but these 2 in particular attacked from the rear and pecked the back of my head! It's that time of year again.
Weather Cloudy, windy, rainy, +10c.

Wow! I've never run into that situation, but have read numerous articles on blackbird aggressiveness. I've also seen Brewer's Blackbirds zoom- diving pedestrians, or other "threats" that encroach on their territory along a main avenue near our location.

Jim ... they were at it again today! Last year the head pecking happened in March, usually it's in April. It's an odd experience/feeling. First you can hear/feel the wings fluttering behind your head, then the back of your hair gets fluffed up. They hover first then all of a sudden there's a "ping" off the back of your head. It actually doesn't hurt, just startles you a bit. Then the RWBB will fly to a nearby branch, look at you and "laugh"! You should see when they go after squirrels and dogs! I'm sure today's New Moon is adding to all this excitement.
