| Notes | Much excitement in our house: I caught a glimpse of a brown & white tail through the family room window, then followed into the kitchen & saw this hawk perched in one of our crabapple trees. Never saw one so close before. This photo was taken through a screen, so is not that clear. I think it's a Cooper's Hawk, but it could be a Sharp-shinned Hawk - am not sure. My husband ran upstairs to get a couple more shots, then went outside and snuck around the side of the house to get a few more. It showed no fear of him and after about 5 - 10 minutes, it leisurely flew away, low over the neighbor's backyard. | |
