- because the bird on the right has a striped breast and has red on the head and breast, it would appear to be a male House Finch; the male Purple Finch has no striping on the breast and the female has no red.

You guys are right..the little purple finch was at the window and I thought I had him..however I was in a hurry to post. I have gold finches, purple finches, and house finches that use this feeder when the big birds are at their other feeder
