-Nice capture! Seems a male Hoary to me as well; using the Essay on Redpoll Identification that JB forwarded to me from the "albertabird" blog, your subject doesn't appear to be noticeably larger than your Common Redpoll shot and therefore we might suggest it might be a male Hoary "exilipes". ( If you remember it to be about 2cm larger, from beak to tail tip, than the Commons in your group, then perhaps it might be a male Hoary "hornemanni".
